Well, I'm embarrased as a geek developer to admit this, but today I finally had my first taste of Thai food. (Thai is reportedly a geek-favorite.) We (the office and I) went to a place here locally called Surin West for lunch, and it was terrific. I didn't get anything too hot, but the coconut milk soup was wonderful, as was the main course, a chicken-avocado dish with peanut sauce.
Of course, I have had chicken satay before, and loved it, and I seem to remember going to some other pseudo-Thai place before, but this seemed to be much more of the real thing, and delicious as well. Good stuff.
