One of the things we did as we got the iMac was to turn off our satellite TV subscription. I watch very little TV, Wife has been feeling like the kids watch too much, and she's willing to give up her viewing (mostly TLC and HGTV) to save the $40+/month, which is too much considering that there's often nothing on worth watching.
And even when there is a show on that we like (i.e. TLC's What Not To Wear), the ads are often for objectionable shows (i.e. TLC's Miami Ink). Other examples abound, (i.e. most ads for shows on USA, many shows on TBS, etc).
So we just turned the whole thing off. Yeah, I'll miss a couple of channels, but this is better...
