Talked to my mom today. She said that dad had been to a National Guard location down there, and had gotten water, ice and MRE's, for free. Pretty darn decent way to spend our tax money, if they have to spend it. Also, they got access to someone else's generator to charge mom's chair, which is cool.
I may go down there next weekend with a work party from church (each ward in our stake has been asked to supply 5 guys, making 50 in all). We'll see how that goes, and what's going on around here.
