Dire Straits, Brothers In Arms

Well, as I've put thumbs down on a couple of apparently popular albums, I figured I'd mention a couple that I do like. Yeah, this goes way back, in this case to the 80's, but I can still give this one a listening. The front half of the album is pop stuff; Money For Nothing got overplayed, and the rest are tolerable but forgettable. The back half is real grab-ya, low-key but emotional blues. As you might guess from the album title, the lyrics have a war-torn, militant feel to them, but without getting dismal or vile.
